From 2007-2013, Attorney Robert D. Malen practiced exclusively as a prosecutor in Illinois and Colorado. During that time, Attorney Malen held various positions within prosecutors offices including lead domestic violence prosecutor (Illinois, 2009-2010), County Court (misdemeanor) prosecutor, District Court (felony) prosecutor, and Gilpin County, Colorado (casino crime) prosecutor. Through those assignments, Attorney Malen handled thousands of cases ranging from minor traffic offenses to attempted murder. Throughout his career, Attorney Malen has tried over 100 cases including over 80 jury trials to verdict, including numerous serious felonies and violent crimes. Attorney Malen was also responsible for filing felony charges in Colorado. and presenting indictments to the Grand Jury in Illinois. Attorney Malen has handled nearly every type of criminal case as a prosecutor including simple traffic tickets, misdemeanors, felonies, domestic violence, and white collar crime. As a prosecutor, Robert gained valuable insight on how the government builds its cases and prepares them for trial.
